OUR FUNDRAISING EVENTS
"1001 Nights" fundraising event
Our WOAM events are exclusive and unique experiences - every single occasion.
Whether as kick-starters to our expeditions, or as celebrations of our team’s campaigns and achievements, we take charity out of the ballroom and into the creative and inspirational realm. As we continue to craft very special occasions, every time, offering our sponsors, partner and guests exclusive and stimulating experiences, we aim to INSPIRE and engage our audience to become more involved in supporting humanitarian causes.
WOAM has been fortunate to count as its guests and speakers, outstanding personalities. We are proud to have hosted Adventurers, Philanthropists and Activists such as: Annabelle Bond, the fastest woman climber in the world who managed to scale the Seven Summits in only 360 days! Thaddeus Lawrence, one of only 125 individuals in the world to have successfully raced 1,000 kilometers in the hottest, coldest, windiest and driest deserts on Earth. Anousheh Ansari, the world's first self funded female space explorer, who shared with us her awe-inspiring journey from daughter of war-torn Iran to space pioneer
In some of Singapore most spectacular locations, we have hosted art exhibits, designer fashion shows and glamorous cocktail parties. World-renowned Artist Ketna Patel, known as the 'queen of Asia Pop," and internationally acclaimed musician, Ulrich von Wrochem, united their talents for a very unique evening of visual and acoustic pleasures, to celebrate our Tsum Valley 2014 expedition.
Our generous guests and sponsors have made every single one of our events a success. By supporting us, they have contributed to changing the lives of many underprivileged women the world over, and for this we are deeply grateful.
SANDS OF TIME - June 201
We were overwhelmed by the success of our multicoloured, Persian-themed, desert-style decor at Ola Beach Club. Hosted to celebrate the return of our team from their pioneering Iranian desert crossing, the event was a tremendous success and lots of fun. All money raised during this event went to support two charities: AWARE Singapore, with which we have a long-term partnership and the OMID Foundation of Iran.
FROZEN - A Siberian Event
A one of a kind Siberia-themed fundraiser and photography exhibition celebrating WOAM most challenging expedition yet across the frozen arctic thundra of Siberia. The event was a sell-out success with over 225 friends, supporters and guests joining Women On A Mission in a giant igloo-like marquee, on the grounds of a beautiful black and white mansion on Mount Pleasant road. All money raised during this event went to support underprivileged and troubled girls and women from specialised residential homes in Singapore.
A Lunch Event hosted by WOAM in support of the Singapore Committee for UN Women's efforts to end human trafficking in Asia. During this special event Dr Ansari, the world's first female private space explorer, shared her awe-inspiring journey from daughter of war-torn Iran to space pioneer. Her very human story is a testament to the power of conviction and to the understanding that through indomitable commitment and unwavering focus, even the unimaginable is possible.

A magical Middle-Eastern event on the illuminated grounds of the Singapore Polo Club
Taking charity out of the ballroom, WOAM organised a magnificent Al Fresco Middle-Eastern evening in support of women victims of war, violence and human trafficking. This event and the subsequent trek to Jordan in November 2013 are part of a larger effort to raise awareness and funds for key charitable organizations that Women on a Mission support and work closely with: Women for Women International (WfWI), UNWomen Singapore and AWARE.
At the event, Singapore based, international adventurer and TED speaker Thaddeus Lawrence, best known for being one of only 125 individuals in the world to have successfully raced 1,000 kilometres in the hottest, coldest, windiest and driest deserts on earth, including the Sahara, Gobi, Atacama and Antarctica shared his experience and recounted his astonishing story, which embodies the spirit of ordinary people living extraordinary lives. This was preceded by a fashion show by Jordanian Designer Asma Charles and by special belly dance performances.
